General Provisions

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 requires that:

Recipients of federal financial assistance must ensure that all policies and practices comply with Title IX.
Recipients must adopt and publish grievance procedures to resolve student and employee complaints alleging discrimination prohibited by Title IX.
Recipients must appoint at least one employee to coordinate efforts to comply with Title IX.
Recipients must notify students, parents, employees, applicants, and professional organizations that they do not discriminate on the basis of sex.
Recipients may not provide "significant assistance" to any agency, organization or person which discriminates on the basis on sex in providing any aid, benefit or service to students or employees.
